Rifts World Book 35 Megaverse In Flames Review

Here is the long-awaited rifts world book 35 megaverse in flames review. North America is the center of the Minion War on Rifts earth. With demons and deevils spilling out across all the megaverse, planets like Earth are highly coveted. The number of locations it would allow them to travel to are unimaginable, precisely why they are coveted.

Megaverse in Flames describes the hellish armies that are tasked with the goal of conquering Rifts Earth starting with North America. Each army has a commander, demon, or deevil. In addition, there are new weapons, vehicles, Soulmancer and Blood Warrior OCC (as NPC villains), and more.

Rifts World Book 35 megaverse in flames

The Minion War is here and the demons seek to conquer Rifts Earth. They are bringing demonic armies by the tens of thousands across the dimensional divide, unleashing plagues, seeking out magic artifacts, recruiting monsters and mortal allies, and testing their strength against Earth’s military powers. Worse, they are building Hell Pits so that they can unleash Hell on Earth! Not to be outdone, the Minions of Dyval are doing all the same things. Clashes between demons and Deevils are increasing every day and turn into titanic free-for-alls when Earth forces join the battle. As demonic supernatural forces ramp up, enslave people and wreak havoc across the globe, the question becomes: Is this the beginning of a new Dark Age?

GM Material from Rifts World Book 35

Megaverse in Flames sets the stage for the Demon’s plans on Rifts Earth. It also gives Deevil’s response and describes the forces of both. This includes roughly 14 Demon and Deevil commanders plus their forces. The locations they plan to attack, forces opposing them, and possible complications along the way.

When the demons invade they bring with them some nasty plagues as well. The book gives a rolling table for random plagues in an area. I don’t personally care to use the plagues myself as I prefer to focus on the demon forces and their actions instead.

We also get a look at a new spell caster that uses demon magic called Soulmancy. Two NPC villains are given that can be used to tie in the demons with mortal forces quite nicely.

Lastly, there is a section that describes possible ways to go about saving Rift’s Earth. These are just some ideas to help GMs(game masters) design their campaigns. I myself think there is one Hell Lord that will wrap up the entire Minion War on Rifts Earth all on its own, causing all Demons and Deevils involved to leave (check Rifts Africa for more info on Death).

Player Material in Rifts Megaverse in Flames

This book isn’t really that good for players looking to gain more character options. No loot from demons is likely to be kept by heroic characters. It’s a good book to better understand the Minion War though that’s more of a metagaming aspect that some players and GMs frown upon. I have no problem with it as Id rather have players informed about what’s going on to better make characters for this style of game.

Story material from Rifts World Book 35

It all starts when Modeus, the current Lord of hades, takes over. He comes up with the idea of conquering the Deevils dimension of Dyval, which up until this point has always been an unspoken rule not to attack. He puts together a plan that would have worked if not for some over-eager underlings. In order to take Dyval, Modeus’s plan consists of taking multiple locations with portals that connect directly to Dyval, which includes Rifts Earth.

Of course, even if the plan fails it will give the Demons new portals that can be used to access thousands upon thousands of new dimensions. Supernatural creatures incredibly value every place like Rifts Earth for this reason.

World Book 35 originality

I don’t know of any other game that has a storyline that spans multiple books and games. This is, I think, the most unique storyline of any game I’ve read.

Our recommendations of the best Rifts books for a Minion War game.

How game-breaking is Megaverse in Flames

In any game Demons and Deevils are really strong enemies. This book brings that threat level to a whole new level. Instead of facing one or two of the things, there are now hundreds of thousands in organized armies (as organized as demons can be).

This isn’t game-breaking per se, though it does require a new outlook on how to create games, deal with threats, and the like.

How good are the occs from Rifts Megaverse in Flames

The NPC villain OCCs are really good at what they are intended for. They are kind of like witches in that they make a pact with a demon, and then they also have spells. Their abilities make them perfect threats to deal with for lower-level or lower-powered characters. As players get stronger then you could start having them deal more with Demons and Deevils.

How well does World Book 35 mix with the core book

They go hand in hand, as everything happening in this book occurs in the areas from the main book. I personally have a map of North America where I’ve made comments on it as to where each different Demon lord and the army is at. It also has the main cities on it. There is a fan-made RIfts North America map that you can easily find with a google search and then do the same.
