Rifts Dimension Book eight Naruni Wave 2 review. One of the largest arms dealers in the Three Galaxies had a less than the desired welcoming to their products on RIfts Earth. They come back in an effort to rectify that situation and gain a better foothold.
An interesting side note is that the material in this book was inspired by Patrick Nowaks manuscript for Rifts Merctown.
The Naruni were kicked from Rifts Earth and have come back for revenge.. and to sell cool gear of course.
Does Rifts Dimension Book eight Naruni Wave 2 add good GM material?
No, I give this a 1 star. As far as the story stuff goes it’s not going to affect gameplay much. If your players are aliens, magic users, or have magic items, then the CS is already out to get them. So adding Naruni Enterprises equipment to their arsenal is rather moot. In addition, the effects on NE are irrelevant as they are in another dimension.
What player material does Rifts Dimension Book eight Naruni Wave 2 add?
PFF!!! There is SOOOOO much gear and equipment. Unfortunately, most people don’t use the stuff listed as it doesn’t get added to Rifts Earth until 109 PA and many games play prior to that.
What story material does Rifts Dimension Book eight Naruni Wave 2 add?
When Naruni Enterprises first came to Rifts Earth all the other arms dealers worked together to oust them from the planet. Anyone now caught with their weapons is shot on sight by the coalition in and around their territory. The reason for this is NE started cutting into their profits tremendously. So now they have a different tack and reason for being here.
Primarily the faction within NE that is coming back is to prove to these upstart humans that they are nothing. They are being much more clever and untrusting in an effort to get revenge on the Coalition and other arms dealers for what their actions made them look like to the other trans-dimensional powers. Several paths can be taken to implement this into a game.
There is a section of 10 different client bases that Naruni Enterprises has restricted its sales too. After that, it goes into a section of Naruni’s enemies on Rifts Earth. Once you understand those two parts then it gives a discussion of Naruni society, factions, names, ethics, and vengeance volumes(books filled with enemies). This is all in the first 15 or so pages, while the next 80+ pages are all equipment.
Is there original material in Rifts Dimension Book eight Naruni Wave 2?
That’s hard to say. Underdogs kick the big player off the block, only for them to come back for revenge. Certainly, we’ve heard that kind of story before so in that regard, not at all. Within the game setting, Naruni is PISSED that humans kicked them out so that’s rather original, but not very impactful on the setting as a whole.
All the large trans-dimensional powers have agreed not to take steps to invade or conquer Rifts Earth because of the potential it has. It is connected to so many different places that all the powers want to be able to use it, and if they make a play for it they invite the same power struggle from all the others.

What game-breaking stuff does Rifts Dimension Book eight Naruni Wave 2 bring?
There are many new additions to look through. An example of something that’s really useful is the NE-3 Slim-Line “Gambler” Revolver. It gives a 20% bonus to conceal it making it great for anyone going into situations that require concealed weapons. The entire Slim-Line of weapons boasts a really high damage capacity also. The other new lines of equipment are equally powerful and just really awesome looking also.
When you get to heavy weapons they are absolutely game-breaking. For example, most rail guns, plasma cannons, etc all do 1d6x10. Well, the Plasma Mini-Gun from Naruni Enterprises does 4d6x10 and that’s in 6 rounds, yes 1d6x10 per round.
Armor options
In the armor department, Naruni Enterprises brings to the stage the Stalker and nightsuit for those looking at stealth options. For those that want utility, they have a modular style body armor that has 17 different packages that you can mix and match(though it’s only 200,000 credits to have all of them added).
The heavy battle armor has an exoskeleton included with it and it kind of makes the person look like a Naruni Repo Bot. Other options listed for body armor are backpacks, diving packs, grav packs, servo harnesses, and more.
Power armor and robots from NE are also very powerful and extremely well priced. The Sun Chariot is probably my favorite as it reminds me somewhat of Robotech, a transforming motorcycle to standing power armor. Then of course we have the Coolest addition of all and that is the NE-R2000 Reaper Assault Robot. It was not cheap though.
Something different than other manufacturers is the drone fighters that are available from Naruni Enterprises. These guys could be used to cover a vast area of territory and provide fairly good firepower. In addition, they fly quite fast and arent that large in case they need to get away.
How good are the OCCs(classes) from Dimension book 8?
No OCCs are added in the book.
How well does Naruni wave 2 mix with the core Rifts game?
10 stars since it is set on Rifts Earth even though it’s a dimension book. It is all about the return of the Naruni to Rifts Earth. The main downside to using Naruni weapons and equipment is the unique plasma cartridge and other ammunition you can only get from Naruni Enterprises.
That being said including the equipment for sale in your game opens a lot of fun and interesting options to a game. Something to note is that 109 PA is when the Minion Wars kick off across the Megaverse so maybe the NE return is a good thing???
